COMFORT ZONE

I learned from a tv documentary about one's comfort zone. It is defined asyour personal territory in the bounderies of your mind that no one should invade. In the movie "Meet the Parents", they call it the circle of trust. Wherein honesty is the ultimate key for a sound relationship. The zone is a sphere in which we are incased in. If anyone crosses that boundery without our consent, they better prepare for WAR!

Men have gone so far to look for comfort. It has lead our fathers to distant lands. For some of us it's the simple things that makes us safe and happy, like ice cream when we're down. A soft clean blanket to shelter us through the cold night. Our life partners that keeps us company on our journey called life.

On daily basis we secure our dreams and ambitions by all means. We struggle to work 5 days a week, and spend countless hours pushing pencils, losing immeasurable sweat under the sun just to get it. But what if one day something wrong happened to that security blanket?

Last sunday everyone at work was stunned by a circular from our administration that our boss was going to be replaced. Time stood still for a while, and my future plans lay frozen indefinitely. My ex-boss might not be the ideal deparment head, but for the past several months she made sure that our family's will have food on the table, and a little extra something in our pockets each month. She may not be a good listener, but we benefited from her decisions.

I feel violated. Foreign invasion is going on inside our secure area, and our comfort zone is breached. Its time to weave another security blanket and move on to another episode of my life. As for my dreams, thawing is not such a bad idea.
