CENSORSHIP

FREEDOM!!!

That is the cry of Mel Gibson in the movie "Braveheart". Now it seems that I too have to shout it out to the computer department. Over censorship crap! Why do they have to block the good websites including http://www.wikipedia.org/? What is the point of having an internet at work if you can't access the best of the best of cyberspace. Now I keep checking my site if they have blocked it. Don't you dare computer guy! It's not worth it. They will not promote you to senior computer guy anyway.

RELATIVITY

I forgot to tell you why me and my sister call my grandmother "Lola Dagat", well here it is. When I was young I'm confused when my parents ask me to go to my Lola. And I always ask them which one? (And believe it or not they still confuse me up to now.) If memory serves, I think it was my father who coined the name "Lola Dagat", because they live near the sea. Guess who she's married to? If you guessed "Lolo Dagat" then you must be a genius! You deserve a Nobel Prize! My grandfather's real name is Felix. The most handsome grand-daddy in the world!

LOLA DAGAT

ANGELINA BONZON DELA CRUZ - "Lola Dagat" (Lola = Grandmother / Dagat = Sea) as me and my sister fondly call her, has left us yesterday August 17, 2006 at 8pm Manila time, and is now in the arms of our Lord God. May you rest in peace Lola! We love you very much.

GREEN

I admit that I am green in envy of my friends and relatives in America. This country has been engraved in my mind by my culture as the equivalent of paradise. A place where you can get everything. A place where the opportunities may it be big or small is endless. A place where even hobo's look good in Oakley shades, and they can speak English too! Not unlike their Filipino counterparts. I can only imagine at this time, that everyone in my family will be so happy to live there and enjoy the American way of living.

TV and movies has taken me there maybe a thousand times. The land is huge and overflowing with natural resources. The beaches are clean and full of beautiful women in their bikini, like the one's on Baywatch. And in terms of technology, I don't think that America is far behind on anything.

Recently, I have spoken to my long time friend in the US and she said that her life is a disaster. I asked myself "how could it be?" Even if something bad happens to you there you could easily bounce back, like those action heroes in movies. Or you’re  tragedy can be turned into comedy like in Scrubs. Have I been misinformed? I guess I won't know until I get there.

MURDER 101

Everytime I open my yahoo account I always get this notice that this particular guy has updated his blog. Not just one time in a day, but sometimes several times! Crazy @ss. (Oh, no not you Janers. I love reading your blog.) It's just so irritating! I don't even read his blog. Does anybody know how I can get him out of my list?

AQUA COOL

Dear Janers and Edster,

Diego loves the water! Could this be a product of our weekly swimming party? Could be. Anyways, we dropped by Edsters flat in Juffair before we went home. We surely miss the happy times when you guys were here. BTW, I saw your male nurse friend at Carl's birthday party last weekend and the Nickelback song played in my head over and over again. Oh, I forgot to tell you that there is a DVD version of the music video that I gave you. Now everything is synchronised. I'll give it to you in December. See you!

Dennis, Lany & Diego

AQUA BOY

We wanted to go swimming, but we have to make sure that our son will not be scared of the water. After sitting in the tub for a few minutes he was making big splashes (look at the drops of water on the left side). And why won't he love the water? His dad is from Navotas.

MOSHI MOSHI!

Thanks to the availability of ingredients here we were able to make our own sushi.

BIRTHDAY

Belated Happy Birthday to Janers and Edster! We didn't send any text messages to you since we know that you can't use your mobile phone in Japan. We miss you very much! Is there any chance you can send me some sushi?=)

I have never seen a more exciting picture like this since grade school. My fascination for strapping a poor creature to something that will explode or burst into flames makes me giggle like a school girl. Me and my friends tried this once with a bull frog and a Lolo Thunder. After the explosion the frog disappeared! If that is not exciting enough we tried something different. Lolo Thunder + Dog Shit! We formed a circle and held each others hands. The first one to chicken out will buy food. The winner was "the big pile of dog shit"!!! Ta-daaa! We went home covered with gun powder scented dog shit.

The end.

BLOGLESS

It is so refreshing to read your friends blog entries when you find yourself blogless. I don’t have any exciting things that will interest anyone of you. There are a few things but I don’t want to brag about it. The only interesting thing that happened to me this week is that my car airconditioning broke down. Its so expensive to replace the compressor! Now my car is in Kuya Edward's Garage. Thanks to Dondi for the ride to Isa Town.

On the lighter side of our life, we have been itching to invite friends over at our place. We haven’t entertained any guests in quite a while and we miss all our close friends. To top it all I wanted to show them the new entertainment system that we got. The sound is amazing! Singing with the videoke will never be the same!

WAKE UP CALL

It's one o' clock and I'm so lazy to finish all work. Diego woke up several times last night. First he was cold, he tried to roll his tiny body near me to get some warmth but I put a pillow between us before I went to sleep and he couldn’t come near me so naturally he cried. I removed the pillow and pulled him close to me and gave him milk. It worked, thank God and we went back to sleep. After an hour he woke up again because he felt cold. He moves so much that he got out of the comforter. I put him in my arms and gave him some more milk. We slept for about half an hour and then he woke me up again. This time he doesn’t want milk. He wants to play! He jumped on me and started to giggle. At 5am in the morning, no matter how adorable he is, I just couldn't see him as cute. So I took him to the living room and popped in the Barney DVD. He slouched in his walker as he watched his favorite dinosaur. Meanwhile, I tried to sleep through the noise that dinosaur is doing until the nanny came in. What kind of dinosaur is he again? Definitely not from Jurrasic Park.

Thanks Sarah for visiting our new home and this blog. I cancelled my appointment with Nate Berkus right after I read your comment. Was our place really nice? I know you like the sofa. Want to swap? ; } hee-hee!

403 FORBIDDEN

I don't have internet at home so I do most of my email at work...after duty! Promise after duty! => But I was surprised when our computer administrator (and thats you mr. nice guy! i know you're reading this!) blocked all the useful websites that I go to. You can't do email too! And I think thats the worst that they can do. Internet is so expensive here in Bahrain! (and i bet that mr. nice-guy-network-administrator knows about this. because he used to hook my home pc to his internet shop in my old neighborhood!) Maybe because there is only one service provider in this Kingdom. They dominated the market and raised the price to make it unaffordable to users like me...those who's salary bracket is so low that you can do a limbo-rock dance underneath it.

The internet is for everyone. Ofcourse there are abusive net users, but cutting off our privilege to send emails to transact buisness and send love messages to our love ones abroad is a cheap shot below the belt. For your information Mr.nice-guy-network-administrator-person, THIS INTERNET IS THE ONLY BENEFIT THAT WE, "THE EXPATRIATES" GET FROM THIS COMPANY. And I bet you know this because your an expat too.

And there's no need to ban my site...this ain't PORN!

From the person who use to pay 5BD per month for illegal internet provided by mr.nice-guy-network-administrator-who-has-an-internet-shop-in-our-old-neighborhood,

Dennis (network connection #12)

SUBURBIA

I'm taking a ride and running with the dogs tonight in suburbia.

We recently moved to a new apartment in one of the Riffa suburbs. It is a complete change of environment compared to our previous niche in the busy city. I love the fact that its really quiet and relaxing. Finding a suitable place to park is now a history. The water supply is not salty at all. But we miss our neighborhood... Everything is soo near! Now you need to travel a block to buy a Pepsi.

Anyhow, the only problem we have is the internet...we dont have a connection yet. ADSL is so expensive here. Moreover, we haven't installed our satellite dish yet so no TV for a week now.

Special Thanks goes to the people who helped us move: Kuya Conrad (for the accomodation), Carl, Jhun, Cesar, Carlo, Indian Guy with a pick-up truck, Ate Weng (for baby sitting), Trisha, Mayeth, Boy Hito (for entertaining Diego). Triple thanks to Jhun, Carl and Cesar for everything. I couldnt do it without you guys. For sure you'll be invited for a drink after we put everything in order.

SOUTH PARK

I have always wanted to know what I'll look like if I was a South Park cartoon. Well here it is! My wife made it for me. Is there any resemblance at all?

I heard from a source that the video that I did was a success! I'm so happy about it! I felt like I won an Oscar. My friend said the bride watched the video about 10 times. Not the best record in my book though. Janners might have watched her video more than that! Right?!

THE HONEYSPOT VIDEO PRODUCTION

I made 2 music video's for a client this week. To be honest I didn't think that I can pull it off because I was doing the second video with an Arabic theme. There were obstacles that left me dumbstruck for a day or two, like the time when I had to use huge high quality movie clip file. My computer crashed everytime that I had to edit it. Its a good thing that I can compress it to a DivX format or else I would have been toast. I have to upgrade my computer before I could even touch it...and I used two computers...yes! two computers to get the job done.

But thank God that my client was pleased with the final product. Deep inside I'm so happy...and so proud of myself! Now I was informed that I have two weddings booked this month. Yeah baby! Two! So wish me luck.

Special thanks to my friend Sarah for spreading the word...My son Diego for sleeping when I needed to work...and my wife Lany for all the support.

1...2...3...

Naalala nyo ba nung bata tayo tuwang-tuwa tayo kapag kinakanta natin yung 1 2 3 asawa ni Marie? Lately, kinanta ko sya para sa anak ko for no reason. And then naisip ko na kung bakit walang panty ang asawa ni Marie...kasi lalaki sya! He wears briefs!

"One, Two, Three! Asawa ni Marie! Araw gabi, walang panty!"
